This passage recounts the profound spiritual transformation of King Parīkṣit, who renounces his vast earthly kingdom to focus entirely on Lord Kṛṣṇa in anticipation of his death. Seeking the highest truth, the King asks his teacher, Śukadeva Gosvāmī, to explain the divine process of universal creation and the various energies the Supreme Lord employs. In response, the sage prepares to speak by offering a series of devotional prayers and humble obeisances to the Personality of Godhead. He acknowledges Kṛṣṇa as the ultimate source of liberation, the internal guide of all living beings, and the one who grants transcendental knowledge to even the first created being, Brahmā. This dialogue serves as a bridge to understanding how divine power manifests the material world while remaining untouched by it. Finally, the text highlights that true spiritual success and purification are achieved only through undeviating devotion and the mercy of the Lord.
