First Class on a CRJ-900! Trip Report: New York (JFK) to Ithaca, NY (ITH) - Delta Connection

Part 2 is here!! See my first flight here:    • Trip Report: Tampa (TPA) to New York (JFK)...   Because of bad weather, I was really concerned that this flight would get delayed or even cancelled. However, because the flight crew did not waste any time boarding, we were able to leave early, and we just barely beat the storms that would have stopped us from taking off. This plane was originally scheduled to fly back to JFK at 3:46pm (just after arriving in Ithaca), but the return flight was cancelled before the first one even took off. Like the first flight, I originally paid for a main cabin seat, but due to my medallion status, Delta gave me a complimentary upgrade to Comfort+ not long after check-in. I noticed in the hours before boarding that there were 4 remaining First Class seats and I was #2 of 2 on the list, so I knew I would get upgraded, but that didn't happen until just before boarding started. My thoughts on First, which were not expressed in the video: I'll definitely take it over main cabin and Comfort+ if given a free upgrade. There was a lot of extra legroom, which comes in handy given my height, but I definitely wouldn't pay for it on a flight this short. Given that First is normally a lot more expensive than main cabin, I likely wouldn't pay to upgrade, but still enjoyed the experience!
