Our first video after my injury! Let's try and make the best out of it and give you guys the quality content you are used from us. Today; the reversed closed guard!
Reverse Closed Guard is one of my favorite positions for connecting modern leg lock entries, K Guard, 50/50 transitions, sweeps, and powerful submissions.
In this video, I break down the complete Reverse Closed Guard system I use in No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We'll look at multiple entries, positional concepts, common mistakes, heel hook mechanics, Abe-locks, sweeps, and how to transition safely when your opponent starts defending.
Rather than chasing one single leg, Reverse Closed Guard allows you to control both knees, making it much harder for your opponent to escape while opening up a variety of attacking opportunities.
In this lesson you'll learn:
✅ What Reverse Closed Guard is and why it works
✅ Entries from K Guard, North-South and 50/50
✅ How to trap both knees instead of chasing one leg
✅ Inside Heel Hook mechanics
✅ A-Lock and Toe Hold variations
✅ What to do when your opponent steps over
✅ Transitioning safely to Backside 50/50
✅ Reverse Closed Guard sweeps to finish on top
This is an excellent position for intermediate and advanced No-Gi grapplers who want to expand their modern guard game and connect leg lock attacks without relying on speed or athleticism.
💬 I'd love to hear your thoughts:
Have you experimented with Reverse Closed Guard before? If so, what have you had the most success with—heel hooks, sweeps, or transitions? Let me know in the comments.
If you enjoy concept-based instruction and modern No-Gi systems, don't forget to subscribe. New videos are released regularly covering guard passing, leg locks, wrestling, and high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu concepts.
