【日本の絶景】京都府 丹後半島の棚田めぐり（袖志の棚田・上世屋の棚田・磯の棚田など） / Rice Terraces in the Tango Peninsula ( Kyoto, Japan )

意外かもしれませんが、京都府は棚田の宝庫。特に京都府北部の丹後半島にある棚田群は「絶景の棚田」として有名です。今回は4つの棚田をご紹介します。 磯の棚田（いそのたなだ）は、丹後半島の付け根にある日本海に面した棚田で、田んぼの数は20～30枚程度の小規模な棚田ですが、日本海の大海原と丹後半島の山地が見渡せる素晴らしい景観が広がります。 新井の千枚田（にいのせんまいだ）は、丹後半島の東部、若狭湾に面した海岸線から山の斜面まで急斜面に階段状に作られた棚田で、朝日の名所としても知られています。残念ながら田んぼの数はだいぶ減少しており、近年は景観の維持が難しくなっています。 上世屋の棚田（かみせやのたなだ）は、丹後半島の内陸部に位置する棚田で、「日本の里100選」に選ばれた上世屋集落の中にあります。里山のもつ伝統的景観がまとまった形で残されており、集落には多くの笹ぶき屋根の民家も残っています。 袖志の棚田（そでしのたなだ）は、丹後半島にある棚田で、「日本の棚田百選」に選定されています。日本海に面した扇状地に約400枚の田んぼが連なっており、海と集落と棚田が調和した美しい景観が見られます。1枚1枚の面積が比較的大きく、東西にかなり広い棚田となっており、そのためビューポイントがいくつか点在しています。 また、5月下旬～6月上旬の田植え前後の時期には、日本海に沈む夕陽が棚田の水面を真っ赤に染める幻想的な光景も見られます。 Kyoto Prefecture is a treasure house of terraced rice paddies. The terraced rice fields of Kamiseya are located in the interior of the Tango Peninsula. It is located in the village of Kamiseya, which has been selected as one of the best 100 villages in Japan. The traditional landscape of satoyama has been preserved in a cohesive manner, and many houses with bamboo roofs still remain in the village. The terraced rice paddies of Sodeshi are located on the Tango Peninsula, and have been selected as one of the "100 best terraced rice paddies in Japan". The area of each rice paddy is relatively large, and the rice paddies are quite wide from east to west, so there are several viewpoints scattered throughout the area.
