Were RAWHIDE's TV Wranglers Real? On location with Sons of the Pioneers singer Rusty Richards! AWOW!

RAWHIDE's underappreciated wranglers are paid tribute by Sons of the Pioneers veteran Rusty Richards. Knowing he was set to be interviewed by Rob Word at The Autry Museum for A WORD ON WESTERNS, Rusty wrote and recited a special verse recalling his time on the long running classic series RAWHIDE which he shared with AWOW's western fans entitled "Ode to the Two Card Cowboy." It's a fitting tribute from the singer, actor, author and renowned horse trainer. You'll also hear from Rusty how he became best friends with superstar Burt Reynolds and was selected to join and spend 24 years in the greatest western singing group ever assembled. Plus, you'll hear how the Sons of the Pioneers started out as a trio headed by Roy Rogers, years before he became Republic Pictures' "King of the Cowboys." In addition to his RAWHIDE wranglers tribute, Rusty sings "Oh, Pioneers," a song he composed in honor of the acclaimed singing group. Recorded at The Autry, July 2016. #singer #cowboys #rodeo #benjohnson #rawhide #horse #horses #horselover #interview #hollywood #sonsofthepioneers #rusty
