DNS Policy and Technical Call, 11th May 2026

The OARC 46 meeting is taking place in Edinburgh, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May, followed immediately by the RIPE 92 meeting, from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd May. The call this week previewed the agendas for the two meetings, highlighting some of the sessions likely to be of the greatest interest. We also took a few minutes to reflect on some of the latest, mainly DNS-related, developments. The topic of negative trust anchors (NTAs) arose in connection with a discussion about a recent .de outage, with the conversation continuing on the mailing list and incorporating serve stale. Given the interest that it surfaced, we will add the topic to the weekly call schedule. NB My VPN caused a couple of issues during the call, so apologies to everyone for the disruption!
