Can a walkie-talkie in WA State really communicate with someone in Las Vegas, NV?
In this video, I put the Alervites PoC-AT1 4G LTE walkie-talkies to a real-world test. I'm here in WA State with my Winnebago Revel, while my son has the second radio in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Instead of relying on the limited radio-to-radio range of traditional walkie-talkies, the Alervites PoC-AT1 uses Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) technology and a 4G LTE network. That means you can communicate across long distances wherever compatible cellular coverage is available.
One of the biggest reasons these radios caught my attention: no monthly subscription. Other than purchasing the radios, there are no monthly service fees or hidden monthly charges to keep paying just to use them. So rather than just talking about the advertised features, we're putting them to the test between WA State and Las Vegas, NV.

🚐 Why I Wanted to Test These
For RV travel and road trips, I can see a lot of practical uses for this type of radio. If you're traveling with friends or family in multiple vehicles, you don't have to make a phone call every time you want to communicate. Push the button, talk, and you're done.
They could also be useful for RVers, overlanders, camping groups, caravans, events, families, or anyone who wants simple push-to-talk communication without being limited to the traditional range of a walkie talkie.
