Check out this newest IFL drop (and so many more watches): https://bit.ly/watchgringa Are the Rolex Submariner, Rolex Daytona, Cartier Santos, Tissot PRX, Patek Philippe Cubitus and F.P. Journe Élégante actually worth buying in 2026? These are six of the most hyped watches in the world—but hype and value are not always the same thing. In this video, I explain why I wouldn’t buy these watches at their current prices, with their current availability or in their most popular configurations. More importantly, I recommend the watches I would consider instead—from the Tudor Black Bay 58 and Glashütte Original SeaQ to the Zenith Chronomaster Sport and Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G. This isn’t a list of bad watches. Most of them are genuinely excellent. The problem begins when reputation, scarcity and secondary-market pricing become more important than the watch itself. Featured in this video: Rolex Submariner Cartier Santos de Cartier Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Patek Philippe Cubitus F.P. Journe Élégante Also discussed: Tudor Black Bay 58 Glashütte Original SeaQ Cartier Santos-Dumont Tissot PRX Quartz Zenith Chronomaster Sport Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G Which overhyped watch would you never buy—and what would you recommend instead of the F.P. Journe Élégante? Did I get anything wrong? Let me know! :) Subscribe for independent watch reviews, luxury-watch analysis and honest opinions on Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Tudor, OMEGA and the wider watch industry.
