I Turned South African Wood Into a Green and Purple Resin Vase

For this project, I chose a beautiful piece of South African Camelthorn wood, known for its unique grain patterns and character. I combined it with my own brand of deep pour epoxy resin, creating two contrasting resin sections — one tinted with vibrant purple mica powder and the other with a rich green pigment. The combination of colours, natural wood grain, and resin flow created a truly unique effect. After turning the piece on the lathe, I finished the vase with multiple layers of clear gloss lacquer, enhancing the depth of the wood and resin while giving it a stunning high-gloss finish.
