The Future of This Channel.

The American Highlander is at a crossroads. This is a brand-new channel that opened up with a debut that was in the top 0.1% of all YouTube channel debuts, earning over one-million views in its first 90 days and over 40,000 subscribers in its first 120 days. A somewhat unorthodox mix of an emotionally raw personal vlog about a middle-aged immigrant building a new life in a country I dreamt of living in as a child, coupled with a tourism-oriented showcase designed to promote local businesses, The American Highlander is not an easy channel to neatly classify because it fuses together multiple genres into every single video. That said, there is a massive challenge: producing each episode is a full-time job -- and I already have a full-time job. Every month I'm filming and editing the equivalent of a feature-length film, and while this is a passion project for me, it's easy to see that burning the candle at both ends with 80-hour work weeks is difficult to sustain.
