Caroline Shaw - 'The Orangery and The Beech Tree' | RNS Moves at The Glasshouse

Strong and simple. This is how Caroline Shaw describes her piece 'Plan & Elevation', exploring her personal experience in the beautiful grounds of Dumbarton Oaks in Washington DC. In this intimate session filmed in Sage Two at The Glasshouse, RNS Moves perform the fourth movement 'The Orangery' and fifth movement, 'The Beech Tree'. Shaw evokes the slim, fractured shadows in the room as the light tries to peek through the leaves of the aging fig vine. This is music created to transport you to Shaw's favourite spot in this magnificent ancient garden. --- RNS Moves is a unique musical ensemble made up of professional disabled musicians and non-disabled members of Royal Northern Sinfonia.
