Taipei's Baoan Temple: World Cultural Heritage Site

Built in 1742, Baoan Temple in Taipei is one of the most fascinating cultural sites in Taiwan. Winner of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2003, the temple is a major religious center and historic landmark. The structure has undergone five major renovations over the past two centuries, the most recent of which took place in 1995 and marked an important milestone in heritage conservation in Taiwan.
