Budha Tooth Relic Temple. This temple is in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It holds one of the most sacred objects in the world — a tooth of Lord Buddha. The story starts far away, in Kalinga. That's today's Odisha, in India. To save the tooth from danger, it was hidden inside a princess's hair. Her name was Hemamala. She carried it across the sea to Sri Lanka. That was over 1,600 years ago. The tooth is still here today. Foreigners pay around 2,000 Sri Lankan Rupees to enter. Locals enter for free or at a lower cost.
