PAKISTAN’S POLITICAL POWER GAME: MAULANA FAZLUR REHMAN’S RISING INFLUENCE, SHEHBAZ–BILAWAL MEETING & MR PATLO’S DEADLY CELEBRATION! Pakistan’s political landscape is witnessing fresh developments, with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman increasingly prominent in national political discussions. His calls for a new Charter of Democracy, political dialogue between the government and opposition, and criticism of the country’s political direction have attracted attention across the political spectrum. Is Maulana emerging as an important interlocutor in Pakistan’s evolving political negotiations? Meanwhile, a crucial meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at the Prime Minister’s House has raised questions about the future of the ruling coalition. What is on the agenda? Are proposed new provinces, constitutional amendments and the distribution of political power among the federation and provinces part of the discussions? What are the possible implications for Pakistan’s political future? Our third major story concerns TikTok sensation Muhammad Ansar Jatt, popularly known as Mr Patlo. His wedding celebration and prize-distribution event in Sialkot turned tragic when a stampede killed two people and injured several others. Police registered a case against the organisers, while the Islamabad High Court subsequently granted Mr Patlo protective bail. What went wrong, and who should be held accountable? Join Matiullah Jan and Professor Tahir Malik on MJtv for an in-depth discussion of these developments and their political and social implications.
