ARC Troopers were some of the most skilled and trusted clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic. Known formally as Advanced Recon Commandos, they played a unique role during the Clone Wars and were trusted with missions that required more independence, leadership, and battlefield experience than ordinary clone infantry. In this video, we take a closer look at what made ARC Troopers different from regular clone troopers, how they were trained, how clones could earn their place in the ARC ranks, and why the Republic trusted them with some of its most demanding assignments. We also cover well known ARC Troopers like Echo and Fives, the defense of Kamino, the Rancor Battalion, ARC Trooper training, and the role Captain Rex played in recognizing some of the best soldiers in the clone army. We also clear up one of the more common questions among Clone Wars fans: was Captain Rex ever actually an ARC Trooper? The ARC Troopers were more than just clones with different armor and weapons. They were soldiers trusted to think for themselves, lead others, operate away from larger Republic forces, and continue the mission even when the normal chain of command was no longer there.
