Dexter: Resurrection season two premieres October 30 on Paramount Plus, ten episodes, weekly. And it's no coincidence the trailer dropped on October 1, twenty years to the day after the very first episode aired. Honestly, the trailer is packed with Brian Cox, and he's great in it. But the line I keep rewinding is one word. Dexter tells a victim on his table that he's the Bay Harbor Butcher, and the victim says, who? So I went through the trailer piece by piece. Why the world still thinks the Bay Harbor Butcher was Sergeant Doakes. The eye exam and the ham, and you can see both are lifted straight from the original opening credits. The Five Borough Killer, already on the front page of the New York Post, and the New York Ripper, who stopped killing years ago and still gets a whole investigation wall. Harry calling it a midlife crisis, Charley's unfinished business, Mia smiling at a café table after dying last season, and Harrison in an NYPD uniform. And then, of course, the gym scene. Dexter says it takes three kills to earn the title of serial killer. What's funny is that's the old rule. The FBI lowered it to two back in 2005. In other words, the expert is twenty years behind on his own subject. If you want the next trailer broken down the week it drops, subscribe. It genuinely helps a small channel. Sources: Paramount Plus, Deadline, Variety, TVLine, Entertainment Weekly via CBR, Bleeding Cool, the FBI's Serial Murder report. Does Dexter finally get the recognition he wants this season? I genuinely don't know, and if you think about it, that might be the scariest outcome for him.
