⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: Make sure no coolant or oil gets on or in your alternator or belt during this job! It can cause it to short and fail.
In this video, we are doing a complete step-by-step DIY for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 (M270). We cover the intake manifold removal to perform a chemical soak carbon cleaning on the intake valves, and replace the thermostat, timing chain tensioner, upper and lower radiator hoses, and the upper coolant expansion tank hose.
We are also attempting a $100 OEM MB PCV valve splice to save myself from having to buy the entire $1,000 OEM crankcase ventilation system / crankcase breather assembly (MB part # 2700900700).
This is a fix for Check Engine Fault/Code P052E71 (Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance: The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked)
P0128 (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)
P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected)
This video serves as a DIY fix for common Mercedes engine codes: P052E71, P0128, P0597, and P0300.*
If you own a Mercedes GLA 250, CLA 250, or any M270/M274 engine vehicle, this video shows exactly what to expect when performing this major service yourself in your own garage.
