Cor Coe, CEO of Sitka Gold, joins Kitco Mining’s Paul Harris at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek to discuss the next phase of the RC Gold Project in Yukon, which currently hosts more than 5.1 million ounces of gold across three deposits. Speaking on September 24, Coe said Sitka expects its 60,000-metre 2026 drill program to significantly expand the resource as it advances Blackjack, Rhosgobel and Eiger and tests additional targets.
“We expect to dramatically increase the resource,” he said. Sitka is targeting an updated mineral resource estimate in Q1 2027, with a preliminary economic assessment potentially following in the first half of the year.
“This is an inflection point for us. We're still an explorer, but we've gotta look at the development potential too of the project,” Coe said. He also confirmed that major mining companies have visited RC Gold as the project has grown, while Sitka could undertake another 60,000 metres of drilling in 2027 alongside its economic studies.
On October 8, Sitka said it had completed more than 56,000 metres in 135 holes during 2026, with assays pending from 79 completed holes.
