BJP calls Jantar Mantar protest a flop show, accuses Opposition, CJP of anarchy, foreign collusion

The protest at Jantar Mantar was a “flop show” aimed at holding the national capital hostage, the BJP said on Saturday, accusing the Opposition, including Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) of spreading anarchy. BJP MP Sambit Patra described the police detention of hundreds of youths and several politicians who had gathered for the protest as a victory of democracy over “mobocracy”. At a press conference at the BJP headquarters, he called Gandhi a “nalayak” leader over his remarks following his meeting with President Droupadi Murmu on Friday. Gandhi had said the President did not deny the INDIA bloc’s allegation of “vote chori” during the meeting. “What is happening at Jantar Mantar and what is being shown on TV and across various social media handles does not represent the true story of India. India is peaceful, and India is moving forward with good governance,” Patra said. He alleged that protesters had attempted to hold Delhi and the country hostage, with efforts to incite violence, physical altercations and street battles. “It remained a flop show. Democracy triumphed over mob rule.
