P16 → P7 on Slicks in the Wet! | PCA Rocky Mountain Thunder 2026 High Plains Raceway Race 1

My first time ever on a wet track. Everyone else bolted on rains. I stayed on slicks. 🌧️ A heavy Colorado thunderstorm delayed us almost an hour. The DE group went out ahead of us and dried in a line, so I rolled the dice on slicks, nervous as I've ever been. I went from P16 to P7 and took home the coveted "Worker's Choice" award. 🏆 It wasn't an easy morning. We'd just mounted sticker Yokohamas and fought tire pressures all day while the temperature kept swinging, with the weather and temps changing rapidly which is pretty standard in Colorado this time of year. 📍 PCA Rocky Mountain Thunder 2026, High Plains Raceway, Race 1 🏁 Class: PCA Modified GT3-R THE WEEKEND I've only got 5 race weekends under my belt across this season and last, so I'm still chasing consistency and learning every lap. In Friday practice on older slicks I set a personal best of 1:53.13. The class track record at High Plains is 1:50.409, set in 2011. I'm 2.7 seconds away and coming for it. THE CAR: ZERO NANNIES ❌ No traction control ❌ No ABS ❌ No power brakes ❌ No power steering ❌ No sequential shifter or computer-controlled downshifts It's just me, three pedals, and a 5-speed. 🔧 Built in 2004 on a 1978 911 SC chassis 🔧 993 GT2 EVO bodywork 🔧 3.8L engine, 1988 G50 5-speed 🔧 993 rear suspension, 935 front suspension 🔧 JRZ triple-adjustable dampers 🔧 Forgeline 3-piece wheels, 18x11 front and 18x13 rear 🔧 Yokohama slicks, 280/650 front and 320/650 rear ⚖️ Corner balanced at 2,476 lbs with driver and 4.75 gal of fuel (half a tank for a 30-minute sprint).
