Star Fox 64 - Area 6 (Famitracker VRC6)

Entering Venom air defense zone! Star Fox 64 is one of my favorite games of all time. Action-packed levels, fun voice acting, simple story, great replayability- and awesome music! I feel like this soundtrack gets a lot of flak compared to the SNES game, which is a shame: the game has some awesome composition work. Area 6 is probably my favorite level in the game. It really feels like you're blasting through an entire enemy fleet in a final heroic push to save the galaxy, and there's so many good bits in it (the enemies freaking out over comms, the Great Fox providing covering fire, the enemy missiles halfway through your teammates panic about). And the music just adds so much depth to it, too! Such a valiant and frantic song with a driving militaristic drumbeat; it's a great final flourish before the big ending to a great game. This was completed in conjunction with a commission I got from ‪@IsabelleChiming‬, a great composer and a great person I'm glad to know. She covered the main boss theme from the game for me (another one of my favorite tracks!) and provided the instruments for this song.
