LINE UP Marian Friedl (woodwinds and strings) Stano Palúch (strings, keyboard, percussions) Martin Kocián (bass instruments, trumpet) Jakub Podešva (sound design) ABOUT THE PIECE "40:40:40 x 4" is an ethno-suite created by Marian Friedl specifically for the anniversary of the Folk Holidays festival. Four musicians play a vibrant set of ethno-music pieces without a break for 40 minutes, utilizing 40 different instruments! The music is complemented by a visual experience featuring a time-lapse photo story and the movement of the musicians across a darkened stage filled with instruments. ABOUT THE MINIBAROSHI MiniBaroshi - Rooted in the Carpathians, heads in the Clouds! Marian Friedl, internationally acknowledged multiinstrumentalist, ethnomusicologist, composer introduces his personal vision of world music. Deep knowledge of traditional Western Carpathian music on the border of the Czechia, Poland and Slovakia, jazz background and research activities in the field of disappearing musical instruments allow him to speak a new musical language. The ensemble's repertoire includes folk and original songs rooted in the traditional music of the Western Carpathians and is based on the released music albums Divé husy (2016), Beránci a vlci (2016), 11 podob lásky (2020), Ruky na dudách (2021), Flétny nad Oslavou (2022).
