Sonia has the coveted double Potion MPR... so what if we just ignored that?
This started as an exercise to try and improve the consistency of some of her solos and grew into a challenge to see what was possible. All runs are Level 160 and use +10 grid energy. Grids and gears shown at the end of each clear, though the gears are the same for everything except Raikou where I needed as much spdef as possible. Runs are in approximate order of frustration.
0:00 Tapu Bulu (~5 potions needed previously)
Can run either Grass Guard or Vigilance as lucky skill. You can probably even drop staggering and still complete this.
4:59 Latios (~6 potions needed previously)
Focusing Dragonite first when Salamence has Earthquake is scary but since special moves are worse for her in general I think it's worth it to not let Latios buff. If you let Latios empty its gauge before entering bar 2 you hopefully don't see another special move for the whole run.
9:57 Cobalion (~6 potions needed previously)
This is the one I was most excited about because I absolutely hated this solo. But this was the first run after gridding Unbending where I didn't get poisoned and it went all the way. The biggest difference maker here is Hostile Environment, and even without the extra energy I think this is worth it over the critical buffs. I got a bit lucky in bar 3 this run, but I did take a Stone Edge crit in bar 1. Vigilance might be an option for the lucky skill since you only see Sacred Sword once if you can rush bar 3 quick enough.
15:42 Tornadus (~7 potions needed previously)
Now this is never going to be a completely RNG free fight because Self Cleanse is such a troll passive. I took Antitoxin here, but if you are willing to reset for parahax on Toxic then Interference Immunity would make this so much safer. If either of those two Air Slashes at the end flinched I would've cried. This is also the only one where you actually want to be clicking Spark over Tackle.
20:12 Entei (~6 potions needed previously)
This one needs so much to go right to be able to win. You need consistent flinches, Fire Spin miss/to be skipped completely, very few defensive drops, all your syncs to crit, and Flameproof/Status Immunity lucky skill is mandatory because once you get burned you have no way to heal back the HP with no Potion MPR. This means that in particular you need to flinch bar 3 a lot because every move is a guaranteed crit.
24:09 Raikou (~7 potions needed previously)
This is actually surprisingly frustrating, and never in a million years did I think this would be worse than Cobalion and Tornadus. But Wise Entry 2 lucky skill is pretty much required, which means you are gambling with paralysis moves for the entire run. I had an earlier run get bar 3 down to 2% before I got Discharge paralysis into parahax and lost. The ideal scenario is actually that your first sync on bar 2 doesn't crit so that you can skip most of the last half with your second.
I do actually think Registeel is possible, running Mind Games 2 lucky skill to prevent the damage reduction. But you would have to flinch at least one of the bar transition sure crit Earthquakes - possibly even both - and I am not good enough at hitting queues to want to gamble for that. You also have to flinch the bar 2 Hyper Beam, and at that point it's so far from consistency that you may as well just grid the Potion MPR.
As for the other solos that have been done, an Insult to Injury build significantly reduces the number of MPR you need, but I don't see a completely MPRless run being possible. Regirock counters the damage rush strategy too well, Uxie bar 2 is brutal especially if you miss the sync instaqueue, and Azelf having Sterner Stuff above 50% makes a physical DPS build kind of pointless. At L200 I'm sure I could get Latias (with Potion MPR) but hopefully one day she gets a grid expansion that makes that much more feasible. If she got offensive debuffs maybe even Terrakion wouldn't be too bad.
