Cyriax cervical manipulation for neck pain and restricted movement associated with cervical disc problems. This clinical demonstration shows the technique and hand placement used in the Cyriax approach to orthopaedic manual therapy.
WHY USE THIS TECHNIQUE?
The treatment aims to reduce pain, improve cervical mobility and help restore more comfortable neck movement in appropriately assessed patients with suspected disc-related neck pain.
The intended benefit is better movement and function—not simply producing a “crack.” Pain relief after manipulation does not establish that an intervertebral disc has been physically repositioned.
This video offers a close-up demonstration for manual therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and students studying cervical spine treatment.

For professional education. Cervical manipulation requires appropriate training, individual clinical assessment and screening for contraindications. This is not a self-treatment exercise.
