Today’s video brings us two unforgettable Sovereign Citizen courtroom moments —and both take courtroom arguments to another level.
First, we meet Luanne Rael , who challenges the court by claiming that the judge is speaking Latin, questioning the court’s jurisdiction, and insisting that she needs an interpreter because she supposedly doesn’t understand the English being used in court.
Then we move to a second hearing involving Michaela Mayberry , a defendant facing potentially 24 years in prison on burglary-related charges . After arriving roughly an hour late to her own motion hearing, Mayberry attempts to challenge the proceedings using familiar Sovereign Citizen arguments, including the claim that she is a “living woman” rather than a “surety.” As she continues reading from her prepared UCC 1-308 script, the judge’s patience begins to wear thin.
In this video, we take a closer look at both hearings and break down what actually happened:
The “I Don’t Speak Latin” Argument
Why legal terminology isn’t a foreign language—and why this argument doesn’t hold up in an American courtroom.
The Arguello Advisement
A step-by-step look at how the court handles a Pro Se defendant who refuses to properly respond to the judge’s questions.
The “Show-Up” Identification
How an on-scene identification works, what the defense challenged, and why the motion to suppress ultimately failed.
Facing Up to 24 Year
A closer look at the serious allegations against Michaela Mayberry, the potential sentence, and her decision not to accept a plea deal.
Sovereign Citizen Courtroom Tactics
From “living woman” claims to UCC filings and constitutional objections, we examine the arguments being made—and how the court responds.
