For years, a painting of an autumn forest hung behind our couch. I always wanted to step into it. So I built it, as a diorama, with a clear epoxy river that glows when you light it from below. It didn't all go to plan. My first river was a puddle, the resin got a bump, the board warped, and the kitchen blender never fully recovered. But that's part of the fun. In this video you'll see how I make: 🍂 autumn leaves with an airbrush and a leaf punch 🌊 a clear epoxy river (with tiny fish inside) 🪨 rocks from moulds and banks from Sculptamold 🌳 trees from dried water plants, and a Japanese red maple 💧 a waterfall with ripples and foam Chapters: 0:00 The glowing river 0:15 From a painting to a diorama 0:49 Autumn leaves (airbrush + leaf punch) 1:49 The epoxy river 2:55 Riverbanks, rocks and Sculptamold 5:26 Painting the landscape 6:13 The forest floor: sand and turf 7:07 Revealing the clear river 7:51 Reeds 8:24 Fish in the resin 10:40 Making the trees 12:58 Ground cover 13:26 The waterfall 14:52 The Japanese red maple 16:16 Planting the forest 17:34 A year later 18:03 The reveal 19:05 Final look What I used: Two-part epoxy resin Vallejo: Mud Brown, Middlestone, Sepia Patina, Environment Weathering Effects Tree browns: Vallejo Sepia, Basic Brown, Mahogany Hobby spray Sculptamold, acrylic caulk, Mod Podge, static grass, tacky glue Questions about the build? Ask in the comments, I read them all. If you enjoyed it: Hype, like and subscribe. It really helps a small channel. #diorama #dioramaforest #epoxyriver #miniature
