Vlog #348. 95 Hectares of Organic Barley Done & Groundspeed Automation Tested on Thistle Patches

The first 95 hectares of organic winter barley are done — but not without a pit stop. Yesterday evening the draper belt jammed in the blackgrass: a worn-down plate from the demo unit caused the belt to jump up. This morning we made a quick trip to the John Deere dealer, picked up a new plate, and solved the problem. Then back in the field. Throughout the day we really got the hang of the machine: belt speed at 100, faster auger, adjusted cutting angle — and now the crop flow runs really smoothly through the machine. Highlight of the day: Groundspeed automation tested live on thistle patches. The camera scans the crop ahead, detects green material, and automatically slows down to 3 km/h in the thistle patches — then instantly speeds back up afterward. Honestly, I couldn't have done it better myself, especially over long working days. Now at least a week's break, rain is forecast. Next up are peas or oats — and then things really get going.
