ByTheRails in Barstow

In late January I was on a business trip in Barstow. Hoping to catch some freight trains, I took my camcorder with. I was glad I did! Barstow has a rather large train yard, which is not easily accessible for videography (at least not without knowing people to get permission or suggestions for vantage points, or a car able to safely get to a vantage point), and a smaller adjacent yard with an Amtrak station for the Southwest Chief. I managed to find a good spot overlooking the smaller yard and the Amtrak station and I was able to shoot some video from the Amtrak station itself. I didn't take the opportunity to visit the museum that is part of the station. Hopefully I'll be able to do that on a future trip.
