In this yoga swing instructional video part 4 of 6 series, Leela Robinson shares a full inversion sequence with handstand. The swing is in lumbar wrap (narrow), rather than the usual pelvic nest wrap (wide).
Includes full inversion, handstand, flying, forward fold, figure 4 hip opener, baby cradle, pike dismount.
Recommendations:
*Establish intention to be safe and have fun. Cultivate courage to grow your yoga edge (expand comfort zone) and compassion for your experience.
*Make sure your swing is securely installed. Swing seat at hip height, swing handles shoulderwidth apart.
*Position a yoga mat under your swing and have two foam yoga blocks available.
*Watch the video first, then practice along with your yoga swing.
*Breathe deep. Choose a breath count ratio that works for you. For example: 4 count inhale, pause, 4 or 5 count exhale, pause. 4-1-5-1. Use the 4 count exhale for more strengthening poses, use the 5 count exhale for relaxing poses.
*Modify at will, hold each posture as long as you like, and do as many reps as you want.
*The sequence moves quickly for demo purposes, pause it to practice at your own pace. Apologies for the low recording volume. Turn it up!
*Ensure you are healthy enough to be upside down. Inversions elevate heart rate in short term and increase pressure in the head.
*Share what you learn with family and friends.
*Please leave questions, comments and a thumbs up if you like.
