Melbourne's Pop-Top Eyesore Transformed - Mulgrave Makeover Before Auction

An ugly duckling with a pop-top extension, a freezing Fijian owner dreaming of Brisbane sun, and a market that’s gone cold... can this Mulgrave misfit turn heads in time for auction? Andrew, Shaynna and Charlie confront a 1970s time warp: a tunnel kitchen blocked by a structural wall, a “jail-like” frontage, and that notorious upstairs add-on. Watch the wall come out, a structural beam go in, retro panelling reimagined, and a bold hedge-and-paint strategy that makes the pop-top all but disappear. Buyers called it grotty and dated; will open-plan flow, sleek new finishes, and street-appeal magic flip the script when the rain-soaked auction begins? From budget battles to a surprise crowd, you’ll see what truly moves the needle in a cooling Melbourne market without overcapitalising. Stay for the candid buyer reactions, the design pivots that save cash, and the moment the reserve line gets tested. Ready to see if wow-factor beats bad timing? Hit play and watch the transformation unfold. #SellingHousesAustralia #Renovation #HomeMakeover #Melbourne #Property #AuctionDay #OpenPlan
