Persian Setar Improvisation in Mahur | بداهه نوازی در دستگاه ماهور

Mahur is one of the principal Dastgahs (modal systems) of Persian classical music. This performance features a free improvisation on the setar, one of Iran's most iconic long-necked lutes and a central instrument of the Persian classical tradition. Setar: Mehdi Moshtagh ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The improvisation explores the melodic landscape of Dastgah-e Mahur through a selection of gushehs (traditional melodic pieces), unfolding freely while preserving the expressive language and aesthetics of the Persian classical repertoire.
