Spartan Race - Sveta Nedelja (HR) 2026 - Beast

After an unusually long wait, season 2026 is finally here for the House Chochlaus! 2025 was an extremely challenging year, with our third child being born and once again turning our daily lives into a complete roller-coaster 🎢 Add recovery from a lengthy ancle injury, and it only makes sense why we decided to kick off the season at the end of March in Santa Domenica (Sveta Nedelja). We came more excited than we have been in a long time, hungry for racing, with the entire family taking part in the season opener. In the weeks leading up to the race, the weather had been beautiful. However, the day before we arrived in Zagreb, the country experienced one of the biggest storms in its recent history, with hurricane-like. Surprisingly, there were no signs of this on race day, and we were able to enjoy a full day of racing 🎉 Race Details: 🗺️ Location: Orešje Lake, RR96+PH, 10434 Orešje, Croatia 🌦️ Weather Conditions: Partly cloudy, with sunshine throughout the race, 9°C 👟 Running Distance: 22.48km 🗻 Elevation Gain: 264m 🪜 Course Obstacles: 36 📷 Course Highlight: Hanging boards – a new obstacle from last year outside of the CEU region that I finally got to try! Above everything else, though, were the unforgettably long carries, with the brutal 1.5km sandbag carry becoming the stuff of nightmares for months to come 😆 After the race, I could feel every single kilometer and obstacle in my body. There’s a lot of work ahead of me to get even close to peak shape, but it felt AMAZING to be back on the racecourse! Zuzana also did well in her first race of the season against though competition in the Adriatic series, and the kiddos enjoyed a fun course put together by the organizers. Overall, it was a great first outing for House Chochlaus, and we already have our eyes set on the next race. Stay tuned! 🤘
