WHY GOD IS WORTHY OF OUR WORSHIP. Should worship be characterised by seriousness? (Psalm 103, v1-4).

What cause we have to praise our God. The believer’s praise is the accrediting to Him of all the honour which His unique characteristics deserve, not least His transcendent holiness and majestic power over all His creation. The Lord must be praised, because His holy nature requires it. He must also be praised because of all the benefits which He bestows upon us. It is God who ordained our lives to come into existence in the first place. It is He gives us our daily bread and all the other material blessings of this life. It is He who preserves our ongoing earthly existence, granting special protection to those who are His own children through faith in Christ. Furthermore, it is He who forgives men their sins, healing them of the disease of their sin-sick souls, as they come to Christ for mercy. It is He who will cause the Christian to overcome the power of the grave, and so receive the gift of eternal life. The God who bestows upon us all these benefits is the God who is truly worthy of our worship. It must also be remembered that worship is the most exalted activity which any human being can ever engage in. It is a serious (but joyful) matter, and must never be carried out in a casual manner. The notion of 'informal' worship may sound attractive to the non-believer, but it is not what the Lord requires of us. How can we possibly be informal in the presence of the all holy God? https://buymeacoffee.com/britainsonly...
