Boys of Summer, with a Tribute to Dolly Parton; The Eagles at The Sphere; Las Vegas; 18 Sep 2026

Don Henley gave a very nice tribute to Dolly Parton prior to performing his classic hit “Boys of Summer”. My late wife Mary would have loved this, she really appreciated when people said or did nice things for each other. This song resonates with me now more than ever. When it came out in 1984, Mary and I had [temporarily] parted ways after a relationship that lasted a year at college, which was not much more than a summer. Now, four decades later, it works on a whole another level. The “summer” was a lifetime spent together, and now “Those days are gone forever / I should just let them go / but I can see you …” The Eagles were Mary’s favorite, and I’m so grateful to have seen them with her for her first - and last - time. Going back without her was a huge emotional challenge. Although bittersweet, it was still a wonderful experience. The Eagles at the Sphere is an amazing show!
