The 9,000-Mile Journey to Michigan Basketball | Hail to Her

Dallas Loughridge is making the move from professional basketball in Australia to Ann Arbor — and she committed to Michigan without ever setting foot on campus. The newest Michigan women's basketball guard sits down to discuss why she chose the Wolverines, her connection with head coach Kim Barnes Arico, playing professionally in Australia, learning from Michigan legend Naz Hillmon, her competitive mentality and what she plans to bring to the Wolverines. Loughridge explains how playing in the WNBL, NBL1 and international competition has prepared her for the college game, why Michigan's fast-paced and hard-working identity immediately felt like the right fit, and what Michigan fans can expect when she takes the court. She also opens up about growing up in country Victoria, reconnecting with her Aboriginal heritage, the growth of women's basketball in Australia and her excitement about experiencing the atmosphere of Michigan basketball in Ann Arbor.
