How I Spin: Contrasting Singles

There is an incredible array of techniques and ideas out there for spinners to learn to spin singles. Sometimes I feel that it has all been complicated a bit and unnecessarily so. When I first learned to spin, I really wanted to learn to spin singles but there was very little out there at the time to help me. Most spinners had been taught that yarn absolutely had to be plied and others felt that a singles yarn wasn’t as good as a plied yarn. Most of this has been disproven with the help of publications like Spin OFF and PLY but there is still a lot of secrecy about how to spin a good singles yarn! In an effort to help minimize some of that mystery, I thought I would share with you exactly how I spin singles but with slightly higher twist and lower twist. Let’s jump in!
