Before the Day Ends, Lord, Keep Me | Compline Gregorian Chant to Fall Asleep

Before the Day Ends, Lord, Keep Me | Compline Gregorian Chant to Fall Asleep Let the evening prayer of the Church carry you into rest. Compline, the night prayer of the monastic tradition, has closed the day for centuries with hymns asking for God's protection through the night. This is 8 hours of slow Latin chant, with no ads and no sudden sounds, so you can fall asleep in peace. "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." — Psalm 4:8 (KJV) 🕯️ TE LUCIS ANTE TERMINUM Te lucis ante terminum, / rerum Creator, poscimus, / ut solita clementia / sis praesul ad custodiam. "Before the ending of the day, Creator of the world, we pray, that with thy wonted favor thou wouldst be our guard and keeper now." 🕯️ SUB TUUM PRAESIDIUM "We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin." 🕯️ ANGELE DEI "Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here; ever this night be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen."
