Everybody wants to live a long time. Almost nobody wants to look ancient while they do it. Botox, lasers, fillers and surgery can all do remarkable things, and this is not an argument against any of them. The question is where you start. Think about two houses built in the same year. One has been neglected for thirty years. Faded paint, tired roof, old plumbing and wiring nobody ever touched. The other has been maintained the whole way through. Same calendar age, completely different condition. People work a lot like that. In this episode of The Longevity Debrief, Dr. Todd Stearns makes the case for what he calls bloom from within. Skin is living tissue. It has to repair itself, build collagen and handle oxidative stress, and none of that happens for free. It needs energy, blood flow, nutrients and a reasonably healthy metabolic environment to work in. Muscle belongs in the conversation too, because posture, movement and the way a person carries themselves do more for how old someone looks than most people realize. None of this replaces aesthetic medicine. It just means the order matters. Improve the biology first, then use aesthetics to refine the result if you want to. That way you are not trying to manufacture health from the outside. You are letting the outside reflect the work you already did on the inside.
