Voor de laatste keer mais hakselen bij melkveebedrijf Gast-Geerdink, die eind 2024 lieten weten te stoppen met het melkveebedrijf. De landbouwgrond werd verkocht, onder andere aan de Provincie Overijssel, die als het goed is de grond weer zal toewijzen aan boeren die elders uitgekocht worden. Zowel het jong als melkvee verhuisde naar andere melkveebedrijven in de regio, en werd in Maart en April 2025 opgehaald. De landbouwgrond hadden ze nog tot eind 2025 in gebruik, en de hierop verbouwde mais werd verkocht aan melkveebedrijf ter Haar, die het in september liet hakselen en inkuilen door loonbedrijf Zandman (Beerze), en wij waren er die dag bij om de laatste maisoogst van begin tot eind vast te leggen. Loonbedrijf Zandman hakselt de mais met hun 10 rij Krone BigX 770 OptiMaize, en het is 's ochtends net na half 9 als ik de hakselaar en Fendt 939 Vario Black Beauty met Pöttinger Jumbo 8450 van Bremmer de mais in volg. Het is een 800m lang veld, en bij het losmaaien van de kanten volg ik ze nog te voet, maar de rest van de dag maken we dankbaar gebruik van de Frisian Motors Leffert FM-40 van melkveebedrijf Gast-Geerdink om het veld op en neer te gaan. Naast de hakselaar rijdt Zandman zelf nog met Steyr Terrus 6270 CVT met Pöttinger Jumbo 8450 DB en een Steyr 6220 Absolut CVT met een Schuitemaker Siwa 720, en zien we Gast-Geerdink met een Massey Ferguson 7718 Dyna-6 met Joskin Trans-CAP 6500/22 BC150 kipper. Na geruime tijd op het veld gefilmd te hebben, gaan we naar melkveebedrijf ter Haar, waar de mais wordt ingekuild. Op de kuil zien we daar Zandman met een Steyr 6200 Absolut CVT met Holaras maisschuif en Landkracht kuilwals, en ter Haar zelf met een Fendt 716 Vario met kuilwals en hun hond die helpt bij het lossen van de wagens. Voor de laatste rijen mais gaan we daarna snel terug naar het veld, en tegen kwart over 2 zien we daar 's middags de hakselaar wegrijden. After filming in the field for quite some time, we go to dairy farm ter Haar, where the maize is silaged. At the pit we see Zandman with a Steyr 6200 Absolut CVT with Holaras maize leveller and Landkracht silage roller, and ter Haar himself with a Fendt 716 Vario with silage roller and their dog that helps unload the trailers. We then quickly return to the field for the last rows of maize, and around a quarter past 2 in the afternoon we see the chopper leaving the farm.
