Mercedes C220 Throttle Body Wiring

If your 90's Mercedes has odd idling issues such as surging, too low, too high, or some throttle position sensor error codes, it's very likely the problem is with the throttle body wiring. Within the outer insulation, the individual wires' own insulation falls apart, causing the wires to short together and give you a whole host of issues. This guide is specifically for the C220 (1994 to 1996), other Mercedes will be very similar.
