But when we were still around *90 km away from Pangong Lake**, we encountered an unexpected and frightening sight — a **landslide and rockfall on the mountain road!* 🪨⛰️ The falling rocks and debris reminded us how unpredictable the Himalayan mountains can be. Thankfully, we escaped safely without any injuries. It was a lucky escape and a moment we will never forget. Did you know? Landslides and rockfalls can occur in Ladakh because of steep mountain slopes, fractured rocks, weathering, rainfall, freeze-thaw cycles, and seismic activity. Driving through these mountain roads requires extra caution. Despite this unexpected experience, our Ladakh expedition continues.
