Catbells From The Lingholm Estate - Is This The Best Family Walk In The Lake District?

Today we were heading somewhere very popular. Usually we like to avoid the busy spots, but as we were on holiday with the family and this was a walk they all wanted to do, we spent a sunny Saturday in May taking on the beautiful Catbells. Our day began with a fantastic breakfast at the Lingholm Kitchen. We parked in the car park there and set off on our walk though the Lingholm Estate. It was lovely to have my mum and dad with us for the part of the walk. But as the path started heading uphill we left them behind and continued up the ridge with my sister and her husband. Although the walk was very busy we really enjoyed it. The views over Derwent Water are second to none and the full circular walk is really beautiful. This was our 76th Wainwright and one we all really enjoyed. This walk is one of the most popular in the Lake District and the UK, and it's easy to see why.
