But hey, that's what we're here for, right? The thrill of the trek! As we hit the trail, we're greeted by the crisp mountain air and the stunning vistas of the Himalayas surrounding us. The journey begins with a gradual ascent, allowing us to acclimatize to the altitude and soak in the beauty of the Khumbu region. One of the most fascinating aspects of today's trek is the gradual increase in elevation. By the time we reach Tyangbuche, we're standing tall at 12,687 ft (3,867 m) above sea level, marking a significant elevation gain of +1,397 ft (427 m). Whew, talk about reaching new heights! But here's the kicker: with every step we take, the oxygen levels drop. Starting off at 67% of sea level oxygen in Namche Bazaar, by the time we reach Tyangbuche, we're down to 64% of sea level oxygen.
