This Deck Just Took Over Modern (And Nobody Was Ready)

Two weeks of Modern, 27 MTGO Challenges, 860 published decklists, and the massive Regional Championship in Baltimore with 1,494 players. Here is the full breakdown of what shifted in the format, what the win rate data actually shows, and how you need to build your sideboard for next weekend. RC BALTIMORE & THE BROODSCALE DOMINATION Mono-Green Broodscale completely took over Regional Championship Baltimore. Piloted to the trophy by Pete Ingram, the archetype locked in 4 of the 8 Top 8 slots and 11 spots in the Top 32 out of an 11.7% field share. Meanwhile, Izzet Prowess, despite being the second most popular deck in the room, converted only a single Top 32 slot and zero Top 8s. MTGO CHALLENGE DATA: THE REAL NUMBERS • Esper Blink is the undisputed deck of the window: Made Top 32 in all 27 events (the only deck to do so) with 5 trophies and a massive 37% conversion into Top 8 (against the 26% field median). It converts the matches that count. • Broodscale vs. Prowess: Tied at 11.3% metagame share online, but Broodscale converts noticeably better with a 53% win rate across 1,600+ games compared to Prowess at 49%. • Boros Land Destruction is the sleeper threat: Sitting as the 5th largest deck with 4 trophies and 25 Top 32 appearances. If your 75 cannot handle land denial, you are going to drop matches. • The Ramp Trap: Mono-Green Eldrazi put up a 48% Top 8 conversion rate, yet converted only 1 trophy across 27 events. • Goryo's Vengeance falling off: Still frequent in Top 32s, but graveyard hate is everywhere, bringing its conversion down to 19% with only 1 trophy from 68 entries. PREPARING YOUR SIDEBOARD Across a 5-round run, the four decks you are statistically most likely to face are Broodscale Combo (45%), Prowess (45%), Esper Blink (36%), and Goryo's Vengeance (35%). With two combo decks, one blink value engine, and a graveyard strategy, pure creature removal in the sideboard will sit dead in your hand.
