In this pen drawing practice, I explore the delicate relationship between a hand holding a rose and a little sparrow quietly observing from below. The rose symbolises love in my artworks, while the sparrow becomes a silent witness to this simple moment. Through pen, lines, cross-hatching and shading, I continue to practise capturing the forms and textures of familiar subjects on canvas. Drawing hands is a challenge I want to keep exploring, and this piece gives me another opportunity to practise the shape, details and gestures of the hand.
