Some are written because you don't know how else to survive what you're feeling. “If Your Love Was Real” is the latter. This song came from a place where love, heartbreak, anger, longing, and exhaustion all started to feel like the same thing. I kept retouching the lyrics and melody because I didn't want the music to feel as heavy as the words. I wanted the emotion to hurt without drowning in it. This may be my last song for a while. After this release, ELARA will be going on hiatus until further notice. I don't know when I'll be back, or whether I'll be the one continuing this channel. Maybe someday, someone else will be able to carry ELARA forward. For now, I just need to step away. There won't be a follow-up Tagalog song muna. There won't be promises about what's coming next.
