Made in Uganda, Moving Uganda: Kayoola Electric Buses Hit the Road

Today, we witness another important step in Uganda’s clean and smart mobility journey as the Kayoola electric buses set off from the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja, carrying Ugandan innovation to the streets of Kampala. Through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, working together with Kiira Motors Corporation, we are turning homegrown science, technology and innovation into practical solutions that improve the lives of our people. These electric buses represent more than transportation. They demonstrate what we can achieve when we invest in innovation, talent and technology. As we continue building Uganda’s automotive industry, our focus remains on cleaner mobility, safer and more efficient public transport, job creation and strengthening local manufacturing.
