This video explains some basics behind the error messages given from video graphics adapters (VGA) when an inappropriate power connector is used. It also suggests the type of the 8/6 pins connectors/adaptors which should be used in most commercial video cards.
Explains the error message:
"PLEASE POWER DOWN AND CONNECT THE PCIe POWER CABLE(S) FOR THIS GRAPHICS CARD"
This has been observed on a ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 1660 video graphic adapter.
A temporary/permanent mod from 6 pin to 8 pin of the VGA power connector is proposed, by using an old 4 pin CPU power connector.
