There's Still Joy | Luke 2 | Jesus Is With Us

There's Still Joy | Luke 2 | PJM The table is thin. The food is little. A cracked plate. A neighbor splits the rice and splits the joy. Even when there is nothing, there is still giving. No chairs at Noche Buena. A broken video call. Children in the yard, caroling. A bottle-cap drum, off-key. They are poor — like Jesus the first time He came. He left the wealth of heaven. He lay on straw. He became poor. So we can dance with no decorations. He is enough. Christmas is not the ham. Christmas is not the lights in the window. Jesus in the middle of lack — Jesus is the joy. There's still joy. Jesus is here.
