Welcome to one of the most important, enthusiastic, and crowded days in Izmir! 🇹🇷 Today is September 9th (9 Eylül), the Liberation Day of Izmir. The city is overflowing with incredible energy, and hundreds of thousands of locals have flooded the streets with flags in hand to celebrate this historic day. This is Part 1 of our massive 9 Eylül special walking tour. We start our journey at the historic Basmane Square, entering through the 9 Eylül Gate to visit the 95th Izmir International Fair (Kültürpark). Even though the fair has evolved from its old mission over the years, it is still packed with an amazing festive crowd today! After exiting through the Lozan Gate, we make our way toward the legendary Kordon promenade. The coastline is an absolute sea of people of all ages, gathered to witness the breathtaking SoloTürk air show!
